Singer-songwriter Tita Nzebi returns with her fourth album, Réminiscence. The ten-track LP marks her first release of the year and first album since 2021. The vibrant album is mostly in the Nzebi language and features African rhythms and sounds, but it has international appeal and is universally captivating.
The album kicks off with the up-tempo title track, “REMINISCENCE,” which sets the tone for the project. The album is a sonic journey and pays homage to the songstress’ Gabonese heritage. The LP emphasizes identity and dives into the multifacetedness of the human experience. “The album delves into the complexities of human experience, spirituality, and social relationships.” Tita Nzebi continues, “Each track offers a profound reflection on themes, such as transmission, maternal wisdom, spiritual elevation, and the duty of remembrance.”
Réminiscence was recorded in various studios across Paris and mixed at legendary musician Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. The album is laced with contributions from talented musicians, such as Aino Peltomaa on “BA’ATE.” Réminiscence is an immaculate project that showcases Tita Nzebi’s polished, raw vocals, lyrical prowess, and overall immense artistry.
