Seattle-based music artist Kojo Kay keeps the momentum going with “OVERTURE TO SOMEWHERE” off of his debut EP, THIS DOESN’T FEEL GOOD BEING STUCK HERE IN THE SAME SPOT 🙁. “OVERTURE TO SOMEWHERE” is the penultimate track on the EP and one of two of the never-before-heard songs on the five-track EP. “OVERTURE TO SOMEWHERE” continues the rising star’s sonic exploration and showcases Kojo Kay’s versatility and immense artistry.

“OVERTURE TO SOMEWHERE” has a bouncy cadence. The record borrows sounds from various genres, such as Alt-Pop, Alt-Rock, and Melodic Rap. The song has an upbeat tone and dives into newfound love and hope. The track signifies a shift in the EP’s thematic journey. “It is a pivotal turning point where joy enters the picture in the form of romance and a newfound inspiration to keep moving forward,” Kojo Kay explains.

The genre-splice of the song makes it captivating and tuneful. Kojo Kay enlisted JUNO Award-winning engineer Jamie Kuse for “OVERTURE TO SOMEWHERE” and the project as a whole. The EP serves as a prelude to Kojo Kay’s self-produced debut mixtape, TONEBOW. The budding musician is just getting started. Stay tuned Kojo Kay’s forthcoming masterpiece.
