With “#1 Problem” out now, we took some time to hear from ALEN HIT. Read below to learn more about ALEN HIT, the story behind “#1 Problem,” and what’s to come.

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

Hi, my name is ALEN HIT. I was born in Minsk, Belarus, where I spent most of my life. I’ve always traveled a lot, including across Europe, and even shot some of my music videos there.

Around 2020, I started thinking about moving to another country. I first lived in Georgia, and for the past four years, I’ve been building my life in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is where I’m currently based and where I create my music.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

Honestly, I’ve dreamed about the big stage and music since I was a child. My parents tell me that when I was very young, spending time at my grandparents’ house in the countryside — I don’t remember it myself — I would just walk around the streets singing my favorite songs.

So, it’s been a dream from the very beginning. And before I even realized it, I had already spent 15 years on the professional stage. In many ways, I achieved everything I set out to do in my home country — awards, TV appearances, concerts, tours with my original music across the country, and strong radio rotation.

But after moving abroad, I felt a strong desire to take things to an international level and share my music with the world. Right now, this is a completely new chapter in my career — focused on creating and growing as an international artist.

How would you describe your sound?

I’m constantly searching for new sounds and I love to experiment. It really depends on what kind of music or style I’m into at the moment. I don’t believe an artist has to stick to just one genre for their entire career.

I also write music not only for myself but for other artists, so I’m used to stepping outside of boundaries and exploring different directions beyond what I may have started with.

Looking ahead, the material I’m working on right now will be very diverse — a wide spectrum of sounds and styles. If I had to summarize it, it’s mostly pop, commercial pop music, sometimes with unusual song structures, sometimes with touches of funk.

For many years, I was quite limited by formats, especially radio formats. But after taking what I’d call a four-year creative break, I’ve become much freer as an artist. And now, I’m really allowing myself to experiment and push the boundaries of my sound.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music?

I have quite a few hobbies, although I do not always have enough time for them these days because so much of my time goes into work and making music.

One of them is squash, and I also really enjoy running. In general, I love active sports. Sometimes I also like spending time with friends playing board games in a cozy, homey atmosphere.

As for staying creative, I think it is actually a skill you develop over time. You build visual taste, you build musical taste, and little by little you train your mind to generate creative ideas. I really believe creativity grows together with experience.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

I’m a true music lover — I listen to a very wide range of music. I’d definitely describe myself as a child of the 2000s, the MTV generation.

So everything that was happening in pop and R&B back then, everything that was on MTV, had a huge influence on me. My favorite female artist is P!nk, and one of my all-time favorite artists is Justin Timberlake — especially what he created together with Timbaland. I truly believe they changed the sound of pop music at that time, and that really resonates with me.

I’d say that period basically shaped my musical taste. Today, I’m not trying to copy anyone or follow anyone directly, but you can still hear the influence of that MTV-era sound in my music. In a way, I feel like I’m a continuation of that legacy.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

I wouldn’t say there’s one single proudest moment because I truly feel that my biggest achievements are still ahead of me. Everything I’ve done so far feels more like preparation — a strong foundation and a rehearsal for what’s coming next.

That said, there are a few milestones I can highlight. I was a finalist in my country’s national selection for Eurovision, which was an important moment for me. I’ve also always tried to stay ahead of the curve — I was one of the first artists in my country to release music on global platforms like iTunes and Spotify.

And now, I’m proud to be the first Belarusian artist releasing music videos on the international VEVO platform. This was something I had been dreaming about for a long time, and once I had the opportunity, I made it happen. Today, I’m активно releasing my videos through VEVO and continuing to build on that.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

I’ve learned a lot along the way, especially in recent years. I actually just turned 33 on April 5, and my perspective on life has changed a lot — my mindset, the way I see the world, everything.

If I had to sum it up, the biggest lesson is simple: if you work hard and stay consistent, you will get results. I truly believe that. If you’re passionate about what you do, you have to give yourself fully to it. Dream big — dreams really can come true.

At the same time, connections matter a lot. You need to meet people, communicate, build relationships. I’ve been lucky to meet people who genuinely believed in my music and supported me along the way.

But I also learned the hard side of the industry. Not everyone is honest — I’ve been scammed, I’ve dealt with fake promises. It’s part of the business, unfortunately. So you have to be careful, trust wisely, and most importantly — believe in yourself.

Now onto your release, “#1 Problem.” What inspired this song?

If you listen to the song — and I really hope you do after this interview, along with watching the video — you’ll feel that it has both attitude and sensuality. There are a lot of different shades in it, both in the lyrics and in the sound.

I actually wrote the song about five years ago. At that time, I really wanted to capture a sense of tension, confidence, and a certain bold energy. I hope that comes through in the track.

To be honest, I don’t remember one specific moment of inspiration. For me, it’s more about having a vision of what kind of songs I want to create — maybe something emotional, maybe something more dance-driven. And when I feel that exact mood, I sit down and write.

So in general, when I create music, I’m just trying to express the emotions that have built up inside me and share what I’m feeling at that moment.

What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “#1 Problem?”

Since I actually have a background in web design, I create many of my cover artworks myself. For this one, I wanted it to feel bold and visually striking — with red and yellow tones, Chinese characters, and a slight cyberpunk influence, but in a different color palette. That was the vision I had in my head from the very beginning, and I simply brought it to life the way I saw it.

The song itself has several different layers and parts, so in a way, it’s like a puzzle. You have to put it together through the video, the cover artwork, and the music itself.

You’ll notice that all these elements are quite different, but when combined, they create one complete story — the story I wanted to tell.

How long did it take to complete “#1 Problem?”

I actually wrote the song quite quickly. I spent around four hours in the studio recording the vocals, mainly because there are a lot of layers in the track, including multiple backing vocals that I recorded myself. It’s definitely a very layered and detailed song.

But what makes the story behind it really interesting is that at one point, the song was released online, and then for about five years I lost access to it. Part of my music catalog was out of my control, and I couldn’t properly use or manage it.

After five years, I finally regained the rights, and I realized that the song never got the attention it deserved. At the same time, it still sounded актуально — timeless, authentic. That’s when I understood that it needed a music video.

How did the music video for “#1 Problem” come about?

Once I decided that I wanted to shoot a music video for this track, I started looking for a team here in Dubai who could help bring my ideas to life.

We sat down together and realized that since the song carries a sense of tension, the video should reflect that as well. That’s how we came up with the concept of a spy-style thriller — like a small-scale blockbuster. Of course, I’m not working with huge budgets yet, but I truly believe that one day I’ll be creating fully cinematic music videos on a much bigger scale.

With the resources I had, we created something strong and engaging. I stepped away from my usual romantic image, and I think the video grabs your attention from the very first seconds — because we show the ending first, and then throughout the video, you see how we got there.

Another key feature is that the video is looped — it ends exactly where it begins, so you can watch it over and over again as a continuous story.

We also wanted to showcase the Dubai lifestyle — luxury villas, cars — everything that fits naturally into the concept of the video.

I believe we created a really solid piece of work, and you can watch it now on VEVO.

What do you hope fans take away from “#1 Problem?”

I don’t think every song has to carry a deep philosophical meaning or deliver some big message. Most music is created to express a certain mood, a certain vibe — and often listeners connect to it because they feel the same way at that moment in their lives.

For me, music is like building a bridge between the artist and the listener. If they connect with the vibe, if they feel it — they’ll enjoy the song and simply have a great time. Because at the end of the day, music is also about entertainment and эмоции.

So if you’re on the same wavelength as this track, don’t overthink it — just enjoy it. It’s not meant to be overly philosophical.

Of course, I do have songs with deeper meaning, and I hope you’ll discover them soon — either in my upcoming releases or on the platforms where my music is already available. But this particular song is simply about feeling good and enjoying your day.

What’s next for you?

Right now, I’ve actually finished working on my new album, which I’m planning to release later this year. It will feature 10 brand-new English-language tracks, with a wide emotional range and a lot of stylistic diversity.

This album is very personal to me — it reflects the four years of my life, everything I’ve been through, and the different emotions I experienced during that time. I experimented a lot with sound, with song structures, and sometimes tried to step outside of traditional formats. You’ll definitely hear that throughout the album.

There are deeper meanings, more emotional layers — it’s a very honest and meaningful project for me. In a way, it’s about rediscovering myself. You’ll also find a lot of hidden details and Easter eggs in it. It’s truly a reflection of who I am and what I’ve felt.

The exact release date hasn’t been officially announced yet, but I’m aiming for November this year. The global rollout will start soon — the album itself is already finished.

I’d definitely recommend starting with the tracks I’ve already released, and then the album will feel like a natural continuation of that journey. For me, this project represents a transition — from who I was to who I am becoming. And if that story resonates with you, I think it will be really interesting to follow what comes next.

Where can we follow you?

Thank you so much for the interview. And of course, I’d love to invite everyone to follow me on my social media, where you can get closer to my music and watch my videos.

You can find me on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@ALENHIT

My music is also available on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6ljwZoaAKYsZKpmNvrHUHl

And, I’m fairly active on Instagram: https://instagram.com/alenhit

To be honest, I’m not the kind of artist who finds it easy to constantly create TikToks or shoot short videos just for the camera. I understand how important that is today — creating lots of content around your music — but my main focus has always been on the music itself and on live performances.

Those who have seen me perform live know that this is where I truly feel at home. I love being on stage, connecting with the audience, sharing real эмоции and living through those moments together.

For me, being “on camera” in that kind of content can sometimes feel forced, not always honest. And, authenticity really matters to me.

So, if you want to see the real me — you’ll find it in my music, in my performances, and in the way that I express myself through my art.

Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
