Terror D is an award-winning Afrobeats artist originally from Sierra Leone and currently based in Sydney, Australia. Known for blending Afrobeats, Dancehall, and contemporary African sounds, he has built a reputation for connecting cultures through music. He has collaborated with artists including Ice Prince, Bracket, Solidstar, Timomatic, Kao Denero, Emerson, and LAJ, and has won more than ten awards across Sierra Leone and Australia.

Hi Terror D! Let’s start with how did you choose your artist name?

My artist name came from my childhood nickname, “Terror,” and I later added the “D” for Daniel.

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

I am originally from Sierra Leone and currently based in Sydney, Australia.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

I decided to pursue music seriously as a teenager after performing at local events and receiving positive feedback.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound blends Afrobeats, Dancehall, Afro-Pop, and contemporary African rhythms.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Outside music, I enjoy sports, spending time with family and friends, and travelling.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

My influences include Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Akon.

Who would be a dream to collaboration with?

One of my dream collaborations would be with Burna Boy because of how he has taken African music to a global audience while staying true to his roots.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

Winning multiple awards and seeing my music connect with audiences internationally are among my proudest achievements.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

Consistency, patience, resilience, and self-belief have been my greatest lessons.

Now onto your release, “Sensational.” What inspired this song? What is “Sensational” about?

“Sensational” was inspired by positive energy, confidence, and appreciation for someone who stands out.

What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “Sensational?”

The artwork reflects the vibrant and uplifting energy of the song.

What was the creative process like when making “Sensational?”

The song started with the beat, followed by melodies and lyrics that flowed naturally.

How long did it take to complete “Sensational?”

It took several months from concept to final master.

What is your favorite lyric in “Sensational” and why?

One of my favorite lines is: “Sensa sensational, the way you whine you dey international, oh girl your body bad, no to fiction.” I love it because it captures the confidence and energy behind the song. Another favorite is: “Sensational, I want your love no condition” because it reflects genuine affection and appreciation.

What do you hope fans take away from “Sensational” and your music in general?

I hope listeners feel inspired, uplifted, and motivated while enjoying the positive energy of the music.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

I am focused on building momentum around “Sensational,” releasing more music, and expanding my global reach.
