Stories Forever Weddings is a creative duo blending music, emotion, and cinematic storytelling into unforgettable experiences. Founded by Samantha and Charles, the pair originally met while working as a photographer and videographer at a wedding — a moment that sparked both a personal and creative partnership. Together, they launched Stories Forever Weddings to celebrate love not just through visuals, but through original music crafted specifically for weddings. With a background in filmmaking, songwriting, and production, their mission is to create art that couples can connect with on the most meaningful day of their lives.
With Play This at the Wedding out now, we took some time to hear from Stories Forever Weddings. Read below to learn more about Stories Forever Weddings, the story behind Play This at the Wedding, and what’s to come.
Hi! Let’s start with how did you two come up with the group name?
‘Stories Forever Weddings’ is the fusion of our individual photo and video brands — a name that reflects not only our partnership, but our purpose. Weddings are filled with moments that deserve to be remembered, and we wanted a name that captured the timeless, emotional essence of those stories — through film, photo, and now music. It felt like the perfect way to bring it all together.
What city are you both from and where are you both based now?
We’re originally from Ohio and still proudly based here. Ohio’s wedding scene is full of charm, character, and heart — and we love being part of that.
How would you both describe your duo’s sound to readers who may not be familiar with you all?
We describe it as cinematic singer-songwriter. The music is heartfelt, intentional, and built for the moments that matter — first looks, aisle walks, first dances, or even quiet reflections. It blends acoustic elements, emotional builds, and lyrics that feel like vows.
Who are some of your duo’s main musical influences?
We’re influenced by a mix of everyday life and the emotions that we experience while filming weddings. A lot of our inspiration comes from the music that we hear during those moments — first dances, processional songs, emotional speeches — and how those songs make people feel. The atmosphere of a wedding day often shapes our creative direction. We aim to capture that same sense of intimacy, timelessness, and emotion in our own music.
What’s one of the proudest moments of your group’s music career so far?
One of the proudest moments has been hearing couples and their guests react to our music — especially when they share how it made them feel. Seeing people use our songs in their wedding videos, reels, or even walking down the aisle is incredibly meaningful. It’s one thing to create music that you believe in, but it’s another level entirely to watch it become part of someone’s real-life memories.
What would you guys say are the greatest lessons that you both have learned so far?
Don’t chase trends. Be honest in what you create, and the right people will connect with it. Also, weddings teach you how to work under pressure — emotionally and technically — and how to stay grounded in what really matters.
Now onto Play This at the Wedding. What inspired this album?
We wanted to create an album that could live inside a wedding — not just around it. Songs that could be part of the day: walking down the aisle, reading vows, sharing a first dance, or even just sitting in silence thinking about the moment. It was inspired by real couples, real emotions, and a desire to make music that genuinely fits that space.
What is the overall theme of Play This at the Wedding?
The theme is timeless love — but told through a modern, cinematic lens. It’s about capturing the full range of feelings that come with commitment: excitement, vulnerability, peace, and everything in between.
What was the creative process like when making this project?
We started with visuals and moments first — imagining specific parts of a wedding day — and then composed music to fit those moments. Some songs began as piano sketches, others from conversations with couples. We’d ask: ‘What would this moment sound like?’ Then, we’d chase that feeling until the track was right.
How long did it take to complete Play This at the Wedding?
From concept to release, it took a little over three months.
Is there a specific song on Play This at the Wedding that speaks to you all the most? If so, what is it called, and what is it about?
‘Right Now Forever’ is the one that hits us hardest. It’s about presence — being fully in the moment with someone and realizing that you’re stepping into forever. It captures that breath right before the vows start.
What message do you hope fans take away from your duo’s music and from Play This at the Wedding?
That love doesn’t need to be over-produced or complicated to be powerful. That simple, honest moments are worth remembering — and that music can be the thread that ties them together.
What’s next for you two? Are you all working on any upcoming projects, or do you all have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?
We’re currently working on our third wedding album, this time focused on cocktail hour music — something relaxed, romantic, and easy to enjoy in the background of real moments. We’re also continuing to create personalized wedding song commissions and expanding our photo and video work across Ohio and beyond. No live shows at the moment — our energy is going into projects that couples can truly use on their wedding day, both visually and musically.
