Former Houston Texans’ cheerleader and former member of the girl group, Sophia Fresh, Crystal Tamar unveils a new record, “Playtime.” The song follows the Texas-bred, California-based singer-songwriter and dancer’s hiatus-breaking track, “Whachoo Doin?!” “Playtime” is a sultry, love-laced R&B/Soul anthem.
“Playtime” explores love’s unpredictability and how true love can be found in unexpected moments. The emotive, vulnerable jam is a celebration of love and has a personal touch as it was inspired by Crystal Tamar’s own love story. “It tells the story of my realization that everything that I thought that I wanted in a lifelong partner changed when I met the man who would become my husband.” Crystal Tamar continues: “I was pretty sure that I had my future all planned out and knew what I wanted in a lifelong partner, and skkrrtt — real love showed up and changed everything! Turns out that I was playing around all along.”
The smooth, tuneful instrumental, produced by GRAMMY Award winner Young Fyre, allows Crystal Tamar’s powerful vocals and immense vocal range to shine. The resonating, heartfelt lyrics, which were co-written by renowned songwriter Corey Mekell, are the chef’s kiss.
“Playtime” serves as a lead single for Crystal Tamar’s upcoming EP, This Changes Everything. The project was executive produced by Young Fyre and multi-GRAMMY nominee Kosine. The seasoned music artist is closing out the year on a high note. Press play on “Playtime.”
