“NOT A LOVE SONG” is a clever, emotive anti-love or faux love song. The vulnerable song dives into love’s unpredictability and unreciprocated love. “It’s a song about wanting to write a love song for someone that you’ve met and care about, but you realise it’s unrequited love.” M & J continue, “It ended up being a tale about dreams and hopes for the relationship and those elements didn’t matetialise in the relationship, so the song ended up being not a love song.”
