Hi Starae Gonzalez! Tell us about who you are and where you are from.

I am a proud first-generation Latina model based in Houston, Texas. With over a decade of experience in the industry, I have built an impressive portfolio that spans across Colorado and Texas. Throughout my career, I have participated in a diverse range of creative projects, including workshops, photoshoots, video productions, commercials, and music videos. My versatility and professionalism has also earned me the opportunity to represent several brands with confidence and style.

How did you get your start modeling, and how long have you been modeling?

I began my modeling career in 2015 when I was selected to represent Holy Kiss, a cosmetics brand founded by Kimberly J. Lewis (@kimberlyj4change). This opportunity marked the start of my journey in the modeling industry and helped establish my presence as a versatile and confident model.

When did you first get published?

My first publication was featured in HiLife Magazine in October 2025, marking a significant milestone in my modeling career.

What is your favorite type of modeling?

My favorite type of modeling involves artistic photoshoots, where creative visions are brought to life through collaboration and expression.

How do you prepare for a shoot?

I prepare for photoshoots by maintaining a consistent fitness routine at F45, following a balanced diet, and staying healthy and hydrated. I also ensure my nails, eyebrows, and overall appearance are well-groomed and camera-ready.

What are some of the most memorable shoots that you’ve done?

Two of my most memorable photoshoots were with Ginny Haupert (@GinnyHaupert). Shooting in Ginny’s studio is more than just a photoshoot—it’s a true luxury experience. I was treated with exceptional care and attention, complete with access to an exquisite wardrobe filled with unique outfits and accessories. Ginny begins each session by interviewing her clients, taking the time to understand their preferences, comfort levels, and personal style. This thoughtful approach allows her to create a fully customized experience that empowers her subjects to feel like the best version of themselves. I consider it an honor to have worked with Ginny.

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of modeling?

The most challenging aspect of modeling, in my experience, is connecting with different photographers and finding those with whom I truly share a creative synergy. Modeling is a collaborative art form, and success depends on aligning styles, visions, and energy to bring a shared concept to life.

What do you find to be the most rewarding aspect of modeling?

The most rewarding aspect of modeling, for me, is seeing a creative vision come to life and knowing that I played a key role in that artistic expression. I find great fulfillment in collaborating with talented photographers, stylists, and creative teams to produce images that inspire and tell a story. Each successful shoot serves as a reminder of my growth, confidence, and passion for the craft.

What words of advice do you have for people with similar aspirations?

My advice for those with similar aspirations is to take the time to reflect on what they truly want to gain from modeling and to establish clear boundaries from the start. Understanding personal goals and limits not only builds confidence, but also helps ensure a positive and empowering experience within the industry.
