Julia and Stephanie, known as the Squattwins, are twin sisters from Germany who have taken the world of extreme sports and endurance records by storm. Known for their unstoppable energy, discipline, and teamwork, they’ve set multiple official world records—often for charity and always with an inspiring message behind their feats.

Hi Julia and Stephanie! Tell us about who you all are and where you guys are from.

We are identical twin sisters from Munich, Germany. We are both extreme athletes and set 12-hour and 24-hour world records.

How did you guys get your start, and how long have you all been breaking and setting records?

We’ve always been into sports—when we were kids, we played football. Around 2016, we got into fitness. We’ve been breaking records since 2021 and currently hold 10 world records.

What decisions have influenced your guys’ career path?

In our early twenties, we were both diagnosed with a heart condition—our right heart valves don’t close properly. That was the moment that we decided that we can achieve anything if we truly believe in ourselves. Of course, our athletic performance has been closely monitored and supervised by a cardiologist.

What makes your guys’ story unique?

Our strong mindset is what makes us unique. We believe with every fiber of our being that we will set each individual record. For us, there is no doubt that we will succeed.

When did you guys first break or set a Guinness World Record, and what was the record that was broken or set?

We slid for 24 hours on a giant wooden sphere. Each round included a 6% incline over 800 meters, and the slide itself was 80 meters long.
We dedicated this challenge to Lana, a young girl who sadly passed away from leukemia shortly before the event.

How do you guys choose which record to try to break or set?

We love the challenge of pushing our limits. For example, the Stairmaster was one of the toughest challenges we’ve faced. We only go after world records that we feel 100% aligned with. We manifest success and fully believe that we’ve already achieved it. Every fiber of our bodies believes in it.

How many world records have you all broken or set so far?

As of now, we’ve broken 10 world records.

What challenges have you all faced while attempting to break or set records?

We usually prepare for about four months before attempting a world record. But, in the end, you can’t really practice something like that. Whether our plan works or not . . . we only find out on the day of the record. So far? It’s always worked.

What skills do you both have that have allowed you both to succeed?

What we rely on is manifestation, unshakable focus, and a 100% belief that it will work. And, so far, it always has.

Do you guys have any role models or influences that have guided your guys’ journey?

Noah Lyles has asthma — and yet, he’s the fastest man in the world. Diana Nyad swam from Cuba to Florida across the Atlantic . . . in her 60s. Limits? They’re just starting points.

What words of advice do you all have for people who have similar aspirations?

Always believe in yourself — it doesn’t matter what others say. Before we go for a record, 9 out of 10 people tell us, ‘You’ll never make it. It’s impossible.’ But that’s their limit. Not ours.

What are some of the world records that you all would like to break or set in the future?

Every record we go for demands that we break our own limits. We’re addicted to altitude and obsessed with speed.

Any other things or upcoming projects that we should currently be on the lookout for from you both?

We’re setting two more world records this year, no doubt about it. The last one was just a week ago, and we’re still reviewing it. Catch us at the Rimini Wellness Expo at the end of May for a Meet & Greet, and at the Sense4FIT Summit Expo in Bucharest this August.

Before you guys go, let’s ask you both some random questions:

What is your guys’ favorite food?

Our favorite food is pasta arrabiata.

If you guys weren’t doing this career, what would you all be doing?

If we weren’t extreme athletes, we’d be diving into medicine. The human body is just as extreme — and just as powerful.

Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
