OGGY is a London-based singer-songwriter and recording artist whose work blends emotional depth, technical precision, and a modern pop sensibility. Raised in Croatia and immersed in music from an early age, she is entirely self-motivated, teaching herself guitar and piano while developing a distinctive vocal and compositional voice that now translates seamlessly across live performance and studio work. With over a decade of international professional experience, she has established herself in London’s highly competitive music scene as a versatile performer, songwriter, and session vocalist, known for genre-fluid artistry and an authentic connection with audiences. Since the release of her debut single, “Morning After Love,” in 2021, OGGY’s sound has evolved into confident contemporary pop infused with rock influences and piano-led balladry, leading toward her debut EP scheduled for 2026. Alongside her music career, she has worked as a radio presenter and producer, and holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, reflecting a rare combination of artistic depth, academic rigor, and global perspective.
With “Help Me Find A Reason” out now, we took some time to hear from OGGY. Read below to learn more about OGGY, the story behind “Help Me Find A Reason,” and what’s to come.
Hi OGGY! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?
The name actually comes from my dad. He used to call me Oggy growing up. My real name is Olga, so it felt like a natural nickname, and I also loved watching Oggy and the Cockroaches as a kid. It always felt sentimental to me, and when it came time to choose an artist name, I wanted to keep something personal and rooted in my childhood.
What city are you from, and where are you based now?
I am originally from a small coastal town in Croatia near Zadar. I always recommend visiting. It is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by islands, with clear blue sea and some of the most stunning sunsets. I have been living in London for almost a decade now.
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?
I always knew I wanted to be a musician from a very young age, but the real turning point came when I took a songwriting course and realised I could write original music. That moment gave me confidence, and from there everything started to move forward.
How has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound?
Every artist has a story, and that story shapes the work. Growing up in a small town while having big dreams of leaving and creating something meaningful definitely influenced me. That contrast still shows up in my music.
How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?
My sound is heavily rock influenced, but because of my distinctive vocal style, I naturally lean into pop elements as well. Overall, I would describe it as a pop rock indie mix. Some songs are more rock, some more pop, depending on the story I am telling.
Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
I love going on long walks and people watching. That is where a lot of my inspiration comes from. I also value stillness and reflection. Some of my best songwriting ideas come from slowing down and observing what is happening within.
Who are some of your main musical influences?
Most of my influences come from the nineties and early two thousands. That is the era I grew up with, and those sounds really shaped my musical identity.
Who would be a dream to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Aidan Martin. He was my former songwriting coach, but beyond that, I genuinely think he is a songwriting master. His lyrics are meaningful, and I really admire his work.
What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?
One of my proudest moments is actually happening right now. Because of the demand from listeners and followers wanting more music, I am currently working on my new EP, and that support means everything to me.
What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that everything makes soup. Every experience feeds into your growth. Do not be afraid to express yourself in the way that feels right to you.
Now onto your release, “Help Me Find A Reason.” What inspired this song? What is “Help Me Find A Reason” about?
“Help Me Find A Reason” was one of the first songs I ever wrote, but I held onto it for a long time because it did not feel ready to be released. I wrote it during a period of losing hope and wanted to capture how I felt using metaphors. The song is about searching for reasons to get out of a difficult place. For me, it was about finding a reason to keep going with my artistry, but it can mean many things to different people. I wanted it to be a song of hope.
What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “Help Me Find A Reason?”
I took the cover photo during a trip to Arizona a few years ago. At the time, I remember thinking that one day I would use it for something. When the song finally felt ready, everything came together.
What was the creative process like when making “Help Me Find A Reason?”
The song started with a melody that got stuck in my head while playing guitar. I built the track from there, writing the chorus first and then developing the verses around it.
How long did it take to complete “Help Me Find A Reason?”
The song itself came together quite quickly, in about a week. However, I put it away for several years before returning to it and deciding it was time to release it.
What is your favorite lyric in “Help Me Find A Reason” and why?
My favourite lyric is the very first one I wrote, “Help me find a reason to move the mountains.” It is about attempting something that feels impossible, or questioning whether it really is.
What do you hope fans take away from “Help Me Find A Reason” and your music in general?
I hope people take away the idea that being hopeful is not a weakness. Hope can create inspiration and motivate positive change. Continued support from listeners is what keeps me inspired to keep releasing music.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?
I am currently working on an EP, and if everything goes as planned, it will be released in the second half of 2026. There is a lot more music coming very soon.
