With her EP, XOXO, out now, we took some time to hear more from Gabby B. Read below to learn more about Gabby B, the story behind her latest EP, and what’s to come.
Hi Gabby B! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?
I got the name Gabby B from my team. It just felt natural! It’s really just a shorter version of my real name, Gabriela Bueno. We wanted something simple, catchy, and easy to remember, and Gabby B just stuck!
What city are you from and where are you based now?
I was born in Brazil, but I moved around a lot growing up. I spent my early childhood in Avignon, France, then lived in Canada and different parts of the U.S. before settling in South Florida. That’s where I’m based now!
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?
Music has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I was surrounded by performers. My mom is a samba dancer, and my dad is a martial arts master, so I was always around stages and shows. I was dancing as soon as I could walk and singing not long after. But even though I loved performing, I didn’t always know music would be my path.
It wasn’t until I moved to Florida and met my team that everything clicked. They gave me the opportunity and support to explore my passion for singing. I started by recording cover songs when I was eighteen, and the positive response really motivated me to take it seriously. That’s when I knew that this was what I wanted to do. From there, I started creating my own music, developing my style, and working nonstop to build my career.
Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?
Definitely! My upbringing has had a huge impact on both who I am and the music that I create. Being born in Brazil, I was surrounded by the energy and rhythm of Brazilian Funk and Samba from a young age. Then, moving to France as a child and later to North America exposed me to so many different cultures and styles of music. That mix of experiences shaped my sound today: a blend of Brazilian Funk, Latin Pop, and mainstream Pop.
Growing up in a family of performers also played a big role. I was always around movement, music, and the stage. That’s why performing is such a big part of what I do. It’s not just about singing for me, it’s about creating a full experience with dance, energy, and culture all mixed together.
How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?
My sound is a fusion of Brazilian Funk, Latin Pop, and mainstream Pop. It’s high-energy, rhythmic, and made to make you move! I love blending the raw, infectious beats of Brazilian Funk with the vibrant melodies of Reggaeton and Pop, creating something fresh and exciting. My music is all about bringing different cultures together while keeping that fun and dynamic vibe. Whether it’s an empowering anthem or a song that makes you want to dance, my goal is always to make people feel something and just enjoy the moment.
Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
Outside of music, I love watching movies, especially horror films and Disney classics! I also collect Barbies, which has been a passion of mine since I was little and helped me get through hard times. Each one feels like a piece of art, and I love how they represent different styles and eras. Sometimes, I also enjoy drawing when I want to relax and let my creativity flow in a different way. All of these things help keep me inspired and bring fresh ideas into my music and performances!
Who are some of your main musical influences?
Britney Spears has always been a huge inspiration when it comes to performance. Her stage presence, choreography, and ability to put on an unforgettable show is something that I admire and have always studied. Janet Jackson is another major influence, especially with her smooth yet powerful performances. Vocally, I’ve always looked up to artists like Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato. Their vocal strength, emotion, and range have really inspired me in how I deliver my own music.
What are some of your future music career goals?
I have so many dreams and goals for my music career. One of my biggest goals is to continue growing as an international artist. I also hope to collaborate with more incredible artists from different backgrounds. Another big dream of mine is to go on a world tour and bring my music and performances to fans everywhere. I love being on stage, so being able to connect with audiences across different countries would be incredible. And of course, I want to keep evolving as an artist; pushing myself vocally, creatively, and visually in everything that I do. My goal is to leave a lasting impact and inspire people through my music and performances.
Now onto your release, XOXO. What inspired this project?
XOXO is a special project because it represents a new chapter in my career. I wanted to challenge myself creatively and really embrace the Latin music world in a deeper way. This EP is all about confidence, passion, and growth both as an artist and as a person.
The inspiration came from experiences that I have either been a part of or witnessed with love, trust, and self-empowerment. Each song tells a different story, from the energy of ‘AMG’ to the emotional depth of ‘Sorry, No Confío’ and the fun, high-energy vibe of ‘Brinca.’ I wanted to bring my unique mix of Brazilian Funk, Reggaeton, and Pop together in a way that feels authentic to me.
I also put a lot of thought into the visuals and storytelling. The music videos are all connected, creating a storyline that ties the project together in a really cool way. This EP is me embracing Latin culture, pushing myself artistically, and sharing stories with my fans.
Is there a specific song on XOXO that speaks to you the most? If so, what’s It called and what’s it about?
If I had to pick one song that speaks to me the most, it would be ‘Brinca.’ This track really represents a lot of who I am as an artist because it brings together the Brazilian Funk alongside the Latin influences in a way that feels so natural to me. The energy, the rhythm, and the mix of Portuguese lyrics make it extra special. It’s all about having fun, letting loose, and just feeling the music. Every time that I hear it, I can’t help but want to dance, and I hope my fans feel the same way!
What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from XOXO?
With XOXO, I really want my fans to feel empowered and connected. Each song on this EP reflects different aspects of life, from love and relationships to self-confidence and independence. I hope they can see parts of themselves in the music. Ultimately, I want my music to be a source of strength and joy for my fans. I want them to know that it’s okay to embrace their emotions, take risks, and live in the moment. XOXO is all about showing the different sides of who we are, and I hope it encourages my listeners to do the same.
What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?
One of my proudest moments has been singing the National Anthem at multiple NBA games for different teams. It’s always such an honor to perform at those events in front of such big crowds. I’ve also had the opportunity to sing the Brazilian National Anthem at different places, which is really special to me because it represents my roots. Those moments remind me how far I’ve come, and they always feel surreal!
What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?
One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned is to trust myself when it comes to the creative process. At the end of the day, no one knows my vision better than I do. This is true whether it’s how I want a music video to look, how a song should sound, or how I present my brand. It’s important to take advice and collaborate, but staying true to your instincts and artistic identity is what makes the best work come to life.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?
Right now, I’m working on a really exciting project focused on Brazilian Funk, blending Portuguese and English. I have a lot of fun songs in the works, and I’m in the process of finishing many of them and deciding which ones will make the final cut. This project is super special to me because it really embraces my roots! As for performances, I’m thrilled to be hitting the stage at the Miami Beach Pride Festival on April 5th! It’s going to be an amazing event, and I can’t wait to bring my energy and music to the crowd.

Before you go, let’s ask you something random. If you weren’t an artist, what do you think you’d be doing?
Probably something still in entertainment, maybe acting or even something in fashion. I love creating and expressing myself, so I can’t imagine doing anything outside of the arts.
Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
