Hi Sarah Lee Vargas! Tell us about who you are and where you are from.

Hi, I am a mother, model, actress, author and advocate for men and women’s rights from Newark, New Jersey. 

How did you get your start modeling, and how long have you been modeling? 

I started modeling 10 years ago, starting as a brand ambassador for hip-hop group Naughty by Nature. 

What led you to choose this career path? What makes your story unique?

I chose to get a degree in criminal justice to help support survivors of narcissistic abuse due to being in one myself. 

What was your first modeling gig? 

My first modeling gig was for hip-hop group Naughty by Nature. 

When did you first get published?

I was first published in 2017. 

What types of modeling do you specialize in, and what is your favorite type of modeling? 

I specialize in brand ambassadorship and that is my favorite type of modeling because I enjoy helping other businesses thrive. 

What are some of the most memorable shoots that you’ve done? 

I have done some nudity holding an anaconda. 

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of modeling? 

Find a balance between tasteful nudity and creativity. 

What do you find to be the most rewarding aspect of modeling? 

 Being respected for the work. 

Aside from modeling, you are also an author. Tell us a bit about your new book, Love Shouldn’t Hurt. What inspired the book? 

I was in a narcissistic relationship and decided to write Love Shouldn’t Hurt to heal others. 

What is Love Shouldn’t Hurt about? 

Narcissistic relationships. 

How long did it take to complete Love Shouldn’t Hurt? What was your creative process?

Love Shouldn’t Hurt was a two year process and the creative process was set to heal others. 

Do you have any role models that have guided your journey?

My manager guided the process. 

What words of advice do you have for people with similar aspirations?

Never give up on your dreams and goals. 

Any other endeavors or upcoming projects that we should currently be on the lookout for from you?

Auditioning for movie roles, but have not landed one yet.
