Svarp The Harp grew up in east Germany in a little town named Fürstenwalde by the Spree until now. Since he was a child, he was interested in music and show. His parents listened to the sound the ’60s and ’70s like CCR, Stones, Status Q, AC/DC, T-Rex, Led Zeppelin, James Brown and a lot of Blues and so on. Svarp The Harp likes the easiness and happiness in songs. Later as a teenager, he learned to play Bluesharp by himself. With the first Konzerts beginning since 1997, he learned to play guitar too and made his own songs. The years after that, the song “Irjentwat is’ immer” was born. In the year 2004, Svarp The Harp recorded this song with the band, Green River, for the album, Sixteen for the Road. Many years later, in 2018, he released the song on the internet together with a music video.

Svarp The Harp is a normal worker who like to make music for parties and concerts.

With “Irjentwat is’ immer” out now, we took some time to hear from Svarp The Harp. Read below to learn more about Svarp The Harp, the story behind “Irjentwat is’ immer,” and what’s to come.

Hi Svarp The Harp! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

That’s a story I tell always in real life when I met people. So more I will tell you face to face. So, for now, it is a secret. 😉

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

I’m grew up in Fürstenwalde/Spree in east Germany till now.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

I grew up with music, and I just started when I was a child and teenager. I did not think about a lot. I just did it. I’m just a normal worker. I do not live from music.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

I’m a happy man, and I like the easy way to make music. Country, Rock, Blues, Rock ‘N’ Roll, Funk, whatever.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Yes, I’m a hiker and like it to be outside.

I ride my bike daily.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

I think that is Blues. Blues is my main influence, and then comes Rock ‘N’ Roll, Rock, Funk and Country.

The most music I listened to when I grew up as a child and teenager was the Music of CCR from John Fogerty because my father heard this daily.

Later, I listened to Blues like John Lee Hooker, B.B. King and Muddy Whaters, Jonny Lang and the Blues Brothers for example.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

One moment was in 1999, we were the opening act of Uriah Heep with my band The Heritage of Blues here in my hometown of Fürstenwalde/Spree.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

That’s easy, like my song “Irjentwat is’immer,” something is happening always! 😉

Now onto your release, “Irjentwat is’ immer.” What inspired this song?

The life!

What is “Irjentwat is’ immer” about?

Something is happening always. Life is full of stories.

You could sing this every day – this song with new verses.

Take it easy!

What was the creative process like when making “Irjentwat is’ immer?”

That was a little birthday gig, and I just improvised and so the main of this song was born.

Later, I gave some more lyrics, and the song was ready.

How long did it take to complete “Irjentwat is’ immer?”

This took a short time.

But, the years passed thru that we recorded my song in studio.

Sometimes it is so that you play a song live again and again for years, but you have not recorded it.

How did the music video for “Irjentwat is’ immer” come about? What was your vision for the video?

It was easy too! It had to be colorful. Like my life. 😉

What message or messages do you hope fans take away from “Irjentwat is’ immer” and your music in general?

Take it easy! Be happy in your life!

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

At this time, I have no plans, but i think that I will be on stage in different band as a special guest.
