Richard Green is an Italian musician/guitarist/composer, based in London since 2012. He moved to London where he obtained an higher diploma as guitarist and a musicians degree.
His first track released is “Dark Horses,” a very experimental composition with a distinct dark sound. After a year of releasing experimental music, he released A Journey, a music EP formed by 5 compositions for piano and strings where he combines typical elements of classical music with more modern sounds, as “Just Different,” a composition very influenced by jazz and blues in some part of the tune. This music EP is the result of a collaboration with Irene Veneziano(pianist) and Archimia Strings Quartet and even more important is the beginning of his music trilogy, “The circle closes” is the second one, and “First light”concludes the trilogy, an extremely creative and artistic music project.
One of the main features of his music is the vast range of musical styles, this is why it is possible to listen electro/dance music, indie/hip-hop, pop music, funky-pop, chillout and even neoclassical/new age music as it’s his music trilogy.
With “Fake Moments” out now, we took some time to hear from Richard Green. Read below to learn more about Richard Green, the story behind “Fake Moments,” and what’s to come.
Hi Richard Green! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?
There is a story behind green, like my guitar is “surf green,” I used to
have a green jacket during my musician degree in London and other reasons…green is my fav color…so my artistic name became “Richard Green.”
What city are you from, and where are you based now?
I was born and and raised in Piacenza, but I spent all my music studies in London(11 years), and now I’m based in Piacenza again even if I move to London often cause of my job.
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?
Started when I picked up my first guitar, classical guitar, or even before ’cause my father is a huge fan of Beatles, and he made me listen a lot of them and others since a I was kid. Break point has been during my higher school when I decide to go to London to study music.
How has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound?
I still believe that my sound is connected to all the music that my father made me listen when I was kid, this is why I love melodic music, as it’s most of the Beatles’ music (many styles, but always catchy and very melodic stuff), plus I listened to a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Frusciante’s solo music (one of my fav guitarist when I started play guitar), and they surely influenced my music style too.
How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?
Let’s say, surely original, plus I m working of different projects who face very different music styles, from neoclassical music to indie/electro or even melodic/techno, plus a new project will be a collection of electro/hip-hop music beats(instrumental) – a feature that connect all those projects is surely the expressivity of my music, with dark or lighter atmosphere and often an important melodic imprint.
Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
Mainly sports and surely human relationships are one of my main source of inspirations.
Who are some of your main musical influences?
As anticipated before, Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante, John Mayer, but even Pink Floyd and David Guilmour (I played a lot of his stuff on guitar during my young age).
What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?
My neoclassical music project, a trilogy of EP where I’ve been able to collaborate with one of the most important Italian classical pianist at the moment, Irene Veneziano, a worldwide famous musician, indeed this trilogy ended up with my first music contract with a label who produced me physical CD copies of one of the three EPs (A Journey).
What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?
That music world is very tuff and because music is subjective, it happened to everyone, even the greatest now to be ignored at the very begin, and nowadays it’s even hard to get visibility ’cause of the massive number of musicians and new music nowadays. So, I believe perseverance and a little of “insanity” are essential to achieve our goals

Now onto your release, “Fake Moments.” What inspired this song?
It was a negative period of my life, almost 2 years ago, indeed during that time I decided to composed some very relaxing and expressive music, mainly for myself and cure myself from a very negative moment. This track is one of the six who form the music EP, Illusions, precisely this track is about those moments that seem to be wonderful, but sooner or later they disappear, like a fake happiness…
What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “Fake Moments?”
This tune does not have the artwork, indeed it’s the EP artwork, Illusions, and I wanted something abstract, this is why I thought about sea/water…and then I created the artwork (my graphic designer did…hehe).
What was the creative process like when making “Fake Moments?”
My creative process, not only in this tune, but most of the time is just following my feeling, my emotions, like stop thinking and put my thinking in music – for me really is like enter in another world when I make music, then sometimes I think specifically when I wanna use some specific techniques, but most of the time it is really putting my
emotions in music and seeing where it goes…
How long did it take to complete “Fake Moments?”
As for most of my tracks, the creative process is short, the full idea recorded with midi sounds took me 12-13 hours total…then it took me a bit of time to bring this tune to the music studio and transport the midi strings with the real strings(amazing musicians work on this), but in order to express myself and my emotions better, I tend to complete my music idea in a couple of days, not more than 3…that’s why “Fake Moments” took me 12 hours divided in 3 days, more or less.
What do you hope fans take away from “Fake Moments” and your music in general?
I believe music is subjective, so I like to describe my emotions in music, and I hope to be able to connect to others through music, but I’m not the one who can say what others can take away from my music, I just like to think that I can help and make them feel better, in some way, with my music.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?
Show nothing but hopefully something is gonna happen by the end of next year, about my upcoming projects…a lot of new music ’cause I have to complete 3 projects, that are 3 music EPs for 2026…
1 – A music EP of melodic house/indie-electro music with violin as the main instrument.
2 – A music EP of melodic techno and this, possibly, will include some collabs with few DJs.
3 – A music EP of instrumental electro/hip-hop beat where I’m not only the composer, but the guitarist too.
