Seattle-based band La Need Machine kicked off their 2025 discography with their second LP, Pourquoi? C’est L’Amour! The ten-track album showcases the budding band’s range as the songs encompass various genres of music: Americana, Folk, Indie Rock, Pop, etc. The album is a heartfelt project that dives into deep topics while spreading uplifting and inspiring messages.
Pourquoi? C’est L’Amour! is a masterful body of work that carries introspective/extrospective tracks. Many of the songs are vulnerable and personal. The band touches on delicate topics and topics not talked about prevalently in music. For instance, neurodivergent lead singer Elise discusses her successful life with autism.
Sonically, the album is captivating. Tracks like “Over the Rainbow” allow Elise’s ethereal, polished vocals to shine. Other jams, such as “Our Song” and “These Old Jeans,” feature immaculate harmonies and duets.
Pourquoi? C’est L’Amour! is a no-skip album – amazing from start to finish. The LP was succeeded by a pair of singles. La Need Machine have yet to make their 2026 debut. Indulge in Pourquoi? C’est L’Amour! while waiting for La Need Machine’s next masterpiece.
