Hi Janeuary! Let’s start with how did you choose your artist name?

My nickname is used to publish my poetry, when I was a teenager and too shy to write my real name on sites. Easy.

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

My city is a Hero. My country is a legend.

Capital of immortal Ukraine. Proud Kyiv citizen. Based here. Where my heart is.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

Music isn’t a career (Stop doing it if you think so).

Music is my bloodstream.

How would you describe your sound?

A sweet and salty caramel covered in bitter to sour dark chocolate.

A perfume made of non existent components.

A plate you only allow yourself once in a while on special occasions.

An infinite open space, cold yet warm.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

I’m a mountaineer. I prefer climbing death routes, and celebrate my survival with a new release after.

Or dance. Dancing is my way of having sex with the music. Guess, you can never take ballet away from me.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

All dead. All loved. Michael. Amy. Buckley. Ella and Louis…Chopin.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

The National Philharmonic of Ukraine? Small music bar in London?… Choose your hero.

I choose emotions over scales. Always.

I’d say, when I sing and people cry. For many reasons… And then feel relief. I’m a musical therapist. And when I see, what I have done to them. And even hear this silent “thank you…” after…

This is the best fuel for my creations. I’m grateful. And feel complete in this universe.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

You can not burn a banana. I swear. You may take a spitfire, apply it to a banana directly, burn it to the core. And then, peel it and discover a whole banana untouched. Isn’t it awesome?

Now onto your release, “Undress my heart.” What inspired this song? What is “Undress my heart” about?

This is about a person who accepts the reality of love.

What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “Undress my heart?”

This was a random shot made by my closest one, while I was in a middle of elemental manipulation. By the North sea in Hague, where we traditionally go to have some beer with catch of the day, regardless of weather. Which is d*mn cold all the time, by the way. I always come to visit her in Netherlands on my way back from mountains. This is a tradition that I’d never want to change.

What was the creative process like when making “Undress my heart?”

The main theme appeared in my head all of the sudden, like it had always existed. Like it was written long ago by someone else and listened like a million times on the radio. The lines appeared out of nowhere. Just like some stream of thoughts. Basically, I just wrote them down like a good pupil. And the drums. They were missing obviously. When I did the demo, I decided: drums. Nothing more. Minimalism. That’s it.

How long did it take to complete “Undress my heart?”

Two days. I’m a maniac. I know. Thank you.

What is your favorite lyric in “Undress my heart” and why?

On Friday evenings, I prefer: “we could die tonight.”

Although on Monday mornings, it definitely should be: “religion is what you called me.”

What do you hope fans take away from “Undress my heart” and your music in general?

I sincerely hope no one can take my music away from me, firstly.

Secondly, I hope, I’ll heal you. I’ll simply do. Just follow my voice.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

This is a top secret. I have at least four things in my head immediately. But, I can’t tell now. I’m eight years old, sorry.
