Hi Ferdinand Rennie! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

Oh, my given name was Ferdinand, and Rennie, I became when I married my partner.

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

I was born in Graz, Austria and live in Dunoon, Scotland.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

Very early days of my life, I was always singing, singing and as a little boy I made shows for the children that I grew up with, they told me to sing for them….

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

I would say pop crossover, ballad singer, not that easy to describe myself…

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Lots of dog walking every day- they keep us busy, love to swim.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

Olivia Newton-John – I had the pleasure to talk to her twice in my life on the phone, as my partner is a fashion designer and designed her stage dresses for her Las Vegas shows – so she also was listening to my music and gave me great advice….

How did the Britain’s Got Talent opportunity come about? What did you take away from the experience?

I just auditioned online and one day someone called me… Oh – never give up and what doesn’t kill us make us stronger…☺

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

To sing for the prince and princess of Monaco at a big gala.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

I love to experience every day the lessons of life – so just believe in your dreams and live them…

Now onto your release, “Together at Christmas.” What inspired this song? What is “Together at Christmas” about?

It’s a wonderful song, I have co written with a very talented songwriter from England, Andy Littlewood – over the years, I have produced and recorded some of his songs and with “Together at Christmas.” I decided, this year, to record it as I thought the Northern Soul, Motown style would give the song the right direction, as people are happy when they listen to it…

What was the creative process like when making “Together at Christmas?”

It took me some years to sort out where the direction of this song has to go…

How long did it take to complete “Together at Christmas?”

We recorded and produced it in 2 months.

What is your favorite lyric in “Together at Christmas” and why?

“NO MORE WALKING ALONE ON A WINTERS NIGHT, WE’LL BE TOGETHER AT CHRISTMAS TIME” – but I have to say that I love the whole lyrics.

What message or messages do you hope fans take away from “Together at Christmas” and your music in general?

That it is never too late to record songs that you love, even if it is just for a short time like Christmas time.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

Yes – we have three new songs in the pipeline, hopefully releasing them in early 2026.
