With her single, “Ready When I’m Gone,” out now, we took some time to hear from Dina Renée. Read below to learn more about Dina Renée, the story behind her latest single, and what’s to come.

Hi Dina Renée! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

My artist name is actually my first name and my middle name. My last name is Siedschlag, and I always hated pronouncing it, so I knew that I would one day change it to just Dina Renée – I’ve been going by that since I moved to Hollywood. It felt authentic to use it because my music is deeply personal, and I wanted to stay true to myself as an artist.

What city are you from and where are you based now?

I’m originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and now I’m based in Los Angeles. The best summers that you could ever dream of are in my hometown – I miss it terribly sometimes, but Los Angeles, as crazy as it is, feels like home to me. There’s something so special about a place where every single day something or someone you meet could change your life. You just never know what could happen, and I love the creative community here and how passionate people are. The contrast between those two places has definitely shaped my perspective and sound.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?

My first memories in life are watching my sister sing and dance, and I was just obsessed with her. She was five years older than me and could sing like Mariah Carey. My dad could play piano and guitar by ear, and I remember walking around the house with headphones on and singing as loud as I could. I was maybe three, and I knew that I loved to sing and wanted to do that for a career. I started writing songs when I was five but it was always my secret that I wanted to be a pop singer.

I didn’t start pursuing it seriously until I moved to Los Angeles after college. I was painfully shy about singing my real voice in my hometown because people were so critical of singers there. I’m not sure if it is because I am close to Nashville, but it just always felt like I couldn’t be myself there when it came to pursuing my singing career. I moved to Los Angeles after college, and it wasn’t until my mom passed of cancer that I stopped waiting until I was ‘ready’ and that I became fully committed to music and began performing, releasing my own songs, and building my brand as an artist.

Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?

Absolutely. Growing up in the South, I was surrounded by storytelling and emotion-driven music. That influence helped me tap into the vulnerability and honesty that comes through in my lyrics today.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

My sound is emotional, cinematic pop with a nostalgic twist. It’s the kind of music that makes you feel something—whether you’re dancing in your room or crying in your car. I love big, bold pop vocals and catchy melodies, but I always keep the lyrics honest and vulnerable. Think early 2000s pop meets old Hollywood drama, with a modern edge.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?

Yes! I own a photoshoot space called Hollywood Pastel Palace and work as a fashion photographer. I also own my own karaoke business in LA—being around other creatives constantly keeps my inspiration flowing. My favorite hobby is helping other artists pursue their music. .

What are some of your acting credits?

I’ve been featured on TLC, E! Entertainment, and worked on various TV and commercial projects. I once had a role on Glee as a beauty queen judge – that was really cool. I love acting because it lets me tell stories in a different way, just like music.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

I grew up loving artists like Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera.

Who would be a dream to collaborate with?

I’d love to collaborate with Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, or Bebe Rexha.

What are some of your future music career goals?

I’d love to tour internationally, land a major sync placement in film or TV, and continue growing my audience. Getting my music on more editorial playlists is also a big focus right now.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

Being featured on a digital billboard in Hollywood was surreal. Also, hearing from fans who relate deeply to my lyrics—those moments mean everything to me.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

To trust my gut and stay true to my voice. The industry can be noisy, but authenticity always cuts through.

Now onto your release, ‘Ready When I’m Gone.’ What inspired this song?

The song was inspired by a moment of clarity during a toxic relationship—when you realize that you’ve outgrown the pain and are finally ready to walk away for good.

What is ‘Ready When I’m Gone’ about in your own words?

It’s about reclaiming your power and finding peace in leaving. It’s not a breakup anthem full of anger—it’s a goodbye with grace.

What is your favorite lyric in ‘Ready When I’m Gone’ and why?

‘Caught in your crowd but I’ll make it to my stage’ and then ‘when you figure out what you want I won’t even know your name’

I was so over the pain that this guy had put me through, and he made me feel so horrible about my worth to the point that I couldn’t even date anyone else. I would always go back believing his lies thinking we would actually be something more than we were. All of this did come true and later when he came back year down the road, I did not care at all – he was ready and I was gone.

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from ‘Ready When I’m Gone?’

The right person will not risk losing you and will be with you. It won’t be confusing, and you won’t be wondering where they stand. It’ll just happen naturally. And, I hope this song inspires people to move on and know their worth.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

I’m working on a few new singles and visual projects that will drop this summer. I also host weekly artist nights in LA, and I’m planning a live performance event soon—stay tuned on my Instagram for updates!
