Dax closes out the summer how he began it with a new Country record that also has flairs of various genres of music: Blues, Gospel, Indie Pop, Soul, etc.
“Man I Used To Be” tells a personal tale about Dax’s sobriety journey. The heartfelt, motivational record is a growth-filled, redemption anthem. Dax waited until he was alcohol-free for six months before releasing new music. “The song, born out of a period of sobriety and self-reflection, showcases my growth and artistic evolution,” Dax states.
The music video for “Man I Used To Be” amplifies the song. It depicts the somber topic in an inspirational manner, with multiple men walking a better path leading into a church. The symbolism and message are palpable.
The visual was shot by renowned director Logan Meis, while the song was produced by award-winning producer Jimmy Robbins. The poignant track may tackle addiction and recovery, but it is perfect for all as its main message is to keep on keeping on and continue bettering. “Man I Used To Be” serves as a prelude to Dax’s upcoming “Lonely Dirt Road Tour,” which will surely captivate audiences with truthful and cathartic music.
