“Power of the People,” on the surface, is somewhat self-explanatory. The smooth, empowering record aims to inspire listeners and reminds listeners of the power that is wielded. “Originally titled ‘Power to the People,’ I changed the title to ‘Power of the People’ after watching Senator Cory Booker’s historic 25-hour and 5-minute speech on the Senate floor.” Bay Area music artist ZOOLOOK continues, “Senator Booker’s words reminded me that the power of the people is greater than the people in power.”
The groovy song’s immaculate syncopation and rhythm and euphonious instrumentation, from the keys to the sax, blend perfectly with the emotive, soothing vocals.
