With “ADORE” out now, we took some time to hear from SIR-VERE. Read below to learn more about SIR-VERE, the story behind “ADORE,” and what’s to come.
Hi SIR-VERE! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?
Well, I was known as SIR Hammond White in previous band. So, I wanted to keep the SIR and being a crossover with crazy elements SIR-VERE in sound we are.
What city are you from and where are you based now?
Based in Milton Keynes, just north of London.
At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? How did you get started?
Always been a music lover, was writing songs in my school days and formed first band, GAUGE, aged 21. We bought a Korg M1 synth and started messing about with sonics fusing my Punk energies with Dance elements.
Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how?
Mmm.. my upbringing of hearing The Beatles , Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love,’ and The Good Bad, The Ugly soundtrack deffo made it’s mark on me.
How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?
Our sound is a crossover treat going from Indie Dance into Rock into Big banging Drum & Bass. No limits, we have no boundaries always keeping it fresh exciting. We have been put into Breakbeat, Alternative, Rock, and Dance genres.
Do you have any hobbies outside of music? What do you do to stay creative?
My family is always my outlet away from music keeps me grounded always.
Who are some of your main musical influences?
Wow . . . so many, love the Sleaford Mods and the Prodigy and Soulwax , LCD Soundsystem. I do dig back love Adam and the Ants, The Clash, Depeche Mode, and Nine Inch Nails.
What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?
Getting any album finished is always a huge moment. Our last full studio album, LOVESCOPE, with the vinyl – very proud of that.
What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?
Lessons are never give up, listen to your heart, and go with your feelings. The industry has a way to hit you very hard – have to stay focused on creative energy.
Now onto your release, ‘ADORE.’ What inspired ‘ADORE?’
‘ADORE’ was a track we demo’d and really liked, but missed that something special something hence VODZILLA came onboard and gave it a great production. ‘ADORE’ is inspired by the fun of dancing in a club and those fleeting moments where you ‘ADORE’ someone with there crazy dancing feet.
The maxi-single has a couple of remixes. How did the Mind Of Us remix come about?
Mind Of Us, a great remix local to us in MK – great DJ’s who play worldwide. Stevie Vega from SIR-VERE is currently producing there work.
How did the VODZILLA remix come about?
VODZILLA is a co-writer on the original, but his club mixes are always banging – love his style, suits us so well.
How would you describe the differences between the two remixes and original?
The remixes take you a little more into clubland, little less vocal and space to really dance your stuff.
What do you hope fans take away from your music and from ‘ADORE?’
FUN and always giving something little different from us. The next release, ‘REBOUND,’ will raise the roof for sure.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?
Next, we have ‘REBOUND’ – single followed hopefully by our next album. We may release another single after ‘REBOUND.’ We have three studio albums finished, just playing with track listing and order of release at the moment. Live shows in the pipeline, just waiting on album details first.
