Hi Steven Franz! Tell us about who you are and where you are from.

I’m Steven Franz. I’m a Texas-based attorney, DJ, and content creator. I was born and raised in Texas, and today I split my time between running a law practice and performing music, which isn’t a combination I ever planned, but feels very natural now.

How did you get your start in the legal industry, and how long have you been a lawyer?

I’ve been on an accelerated academic path most of my life. I started college at 14, graduated with a degree in government by 18, and worked in public service before law school, first for a Texas State Representative in Austin, then for a U.S. Congressman in Washington, D.C. I was licensed as an attorney in Texas in 2025 and now co-lead Franz Law Group alongside my father.

What areas of law does the Franz Law Group specialize in?

Franz Law Group focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal defense matters. One thing that’s important to me is that when clients come to us, they’re working with experienced, board-certified attorneys and a seasoned legal team, not just a name on a billboard.

How did you get your start in the music industry, and how long have you been DJing and producing?

Music came later for me. After attending festivals like Coachella, I became fascinated by electronic music and started learning to DJ in Tulum, Mexico. What began as curiosity quickly turned into something more serious, and over time I started performing live, producing original tracks, and building a presence in that world.

What led you to choose this career path? What makes your story unique?

I didn’t choose one path, I built both at the same time. While I was in law school, I was also creating short-form video content that took off online. That audience followed me as I became a licensed attorney and later as I stepped into music. My story is really about refusing to silo myself and letting discipline, creativity, and consistency coexist.

What music genres do you specialize in?

I primarily focus on electronic music, particularly house, tech-house, and future rave–influenced sounds. My goal is high-energy, club-forward music that still feels intentional and well-produced.

When did you sign with Future Rave Music, and how did that opportunity come about?

My music was signed by Future Rave Music after I started releasing tracks that gained traction on streaming platforms and in live sets. The support from David Guetta and the Future Rave team came organically through the music itself, which was a huge milestone for me.

How do you blend your legal and music career? What sort of attire and visual concepts do you add to your sets?

I DJ in tailored suits, the same ones that I wear in court. Visually, I lean into courtroom imagery and concepts that reflect my legal background. One idea I’ve been developing is called “Jury Box,” where the worlds of law and nightlife intentionally collide rather than compete.

What are the most memorable performances that you have done so far?

Opening for Deorro was a major moment. Performing in front of large crowds, sometimes in the thousands, and seeing people respond to music that I created has been incredibly rewarding. Each show reinforces that this path is real and sustainable.

Do you have any role models that have guided your journey?

My father has been one of my biggest influences. Watching him build a respected legal career as a board-certified trial attorney showed me what long-term excellence looks like. Beyond that, I’m inspired by people who build across disciplines without compromising credibility.

What words of advice do you have for people with similar aspirations?

Don’t wait for permission. Be disciplined, take your work seriously, and accept that growth takes time. You don’t have to choose between being creative and being credible if you’re willing to do the work.

Any other endeavors or upcoming projects that we should currently be on the lookout for from you?

I’m continuing to release music and expand live performances while growing Franz Law Group. There are new tracks in the pipeline and ongoing development of the “Jury Box” concept, with more live dates planned throughout the year.

Before you go, let’s ask you an off-topic question. If you weren’t an attorney or DJ, what would you be doing?

Honestly, I’d still be building something. Whether that was in media, business, or another creative field, I’ve always been wired to create and push ideas forward.

Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
