Mista2U is an emerging hip-hop/R&B artist known for his clever wordplay, bold confidence, and playful takes on adult themes. With a style that blends humor, sensuality, and catchy hooks, his debut single, “Pizza Man,” showcases his signature approach to innuendo-driven storytelling.

With his debut single, “Pizza Man,” out now, we took some time to hear from Mista2U. Read below to learn more about Mista2U, the story behind “Pizza Man,” and what’s to come.

Hi Mista2U! Let’s start with how did you get your artist name?

It started out as demanding respect. I was to everyone Mr. Johnson, then Mister.

One day a guy asked what was my name, and I said, “Mister.” He said, “Mister to who?” I said, “Mister to you,” and Mister2U was born.

What city are you from, and where are you based now?

Originally born and raised in Holly Bluff, MS, and now I live in Dallas, TX.

At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music?

I always had a passion for music since I was in grade school.

    How did you get started?

I started my career as a rapper, but there was no opportunity in MS during that time, and now years later, I’m making a comeback as a Soul artist.

How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you?

A Southern Soul/Blues style with a hint down south country and backwoods blues.

Do you have any hobbies outside of music?

As of now, music is my hobby and job.

What do you do to stay creative?

Life is a canvas waiting to be painted. We all have a story and only the brave ones with tell theirs.

Who are some of your main musical influences?

I listen to a lot of old Blues and ’70s and ’80s R&B, and there are too many artists to name.

Who would be a dream to collaborate with?

I’d love to work with R Kelly one day. His moody, cinematic R&B style mixed with my gritty storytelling and wordplay would create something dark, seductive, and unforgettable.

What’s one of the proudest moments of your music career so far?

I don’t think my proudest moment has come yet.

What would you say are the greatest lessons that you’ve learned so far?

I’ve learned that, in life, you can choose your own destiny. Our minds are so powerful that we can create our reality.

Now onto your release, “Pizza Man.” What inspired this song?

“Pizza Man” draws inspiration from classic R&B and hip-hop artists who mastered double entendres and playful seduction, such as R. Kelly (for sensual delivery and bold themes), Akinyele (for humorous explicit wordplay in tracks like “Put It in Your Mouth”), and modern influencers like Trey Songz or The-Dream. Their influence is reflected in the track’s clever use of everyday objects (pizza toppings) as metaphors for intimacy, creating a lighthearted yet provocative vibe that balances humor with smooth, seductive rhythms.

          What is “Pizza Man” about?

“Pizza Man” stands out for its masterful use of pizza as an extended metaphor for late-night intimacy, delivering explicit content with infectious humor and catchiness that avoids being overly crude. The repetitive chorus (“I’ll be your Pizza Man / With all my special sauce / Give me 30 minutes or less / To drop this meat off”) is instantly memorable, making it a potential party anthem or playlist favorite. Its significance lies in blending sensuality with wit, appealing to adult audiences who enjoy clever innuendos in hip-hop/R&B. Key tracks to highlight: The full single itself, particularly the bridge (“She’s not worried about my bread / She’s not into my cheese / But the thought of my pepperoni / Make her drop to her knees”), which delivers the punchiest wordplay.

What was the inspiration behind the cover artwork for “Pizza Man?”

The cover artwork for “Pizza Man” draws its inspiration directly from the song’s playful and innuendo-laden concept of a late-night pizza delivery serving as a metaphor for intimate desire. Rather than delivering an actual pizza, the “Pizza Man” arrives to fulfill a different kind of craving. The visual depicts a confident young woman in a seductive setting, eagerly awaiting her “special order,” while the delivery man promises satisfaction in “30 minutes or less.” This imagery cleverly mirrors the track’s humorous double entendres—transforming familiar pizza elements like special sauce and quick delivery into symbols of spontaneous, steamy passion—capturing the fun, flirtatious essence of the lyrics.

What was the creative process like when making “Pizza Man?”

The creative process for “Pizza Man” began with a lighthearted late-night conversation among friends about classic food-related innuendos in music and the universal appeal of a spontaneous Friday night craving. I wanted to craft a track that was fun, unapologetically adult, and instantly catchy—something that could make listeners smile while turning up the heat.

I started by building the central metaphor: transforming a pizza delivery into a playful symbol of quick, satisfying intimacy. The hook—”I’ll be your Pizza Man / With all my special sauce / Give me 30 minutes or less / To drop this meat off”—came first, as it perfectly captured the humor and urgency. From there, the verses flowed naturally, layering in vivid pizza terminology (pepperoni, stuffed crust, meat lover) as double entendres while maintaining a smooth, seductive R&B/hip-hop groove.

How long did it take to complete “Pizza Man?”

                About 2 weeks.

What is your favorite lyric in “Pizza Man” and why?

Every phase has a special meaning, so I can’t choose a favorite.

What message or messages do you hope fans take away from “Pizza Man” and your music in general?

With “Pizza Man,” I want fans to walk away with a big smile and a sense of playful confidence. The track is all about embracing desire, spontaneity, and adult fun without taking everything too seriously. Life can get heavy, so sometimes you just need a song that celebrates those lighthearted, flirty moments—owning your cravings, enjoying the moment, and laughing along the way. It’s a reminder that sensuality can be clever, humorous, and empowering rather than overly intense or dramatic.

In my music overall, I hope listeners feel that same vibe: confidence in who you are, resilience through life’s ups and down and the freedom to express yourself unapologetically. Whether I’m diving into passion, heartbreak, or late-night adventures, my goal is to deliver real, relatable stories wrapped in catchy hooks and bold energy—music that makes you feel good, turn it up, and own every part of your journey.

What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects, or do you have any upcoming shows that we should be on the lookout for?

Following this release, I’m releasing another single, “Ain’t My First Fire,” then I’m fully focused on expanding the project into a larger body of work. I’m currently in the studio developing a full EP that builds on the same themes of resilience, emotional survival, and turning past pain into strength. The EP will feature a mix of gritty hip-hop tracks and smoother R&B-leaning songs, all tied together by that unapologetic, fire-tested energy fans have connected with.

As for live performances, I’m lining up select shows for early 2026 to bring these songs to the stage. We don’t have confirmed dates yet.

Where can we follow you on social media?

Before you go, let’s ask you a somewhat random question. What is your favorite food?

My favorite food has to be a loaded pepperoni pizza—extra cheese, crispy crust, and just the right amount of spice. It’s comfort food that never lets me down, and honestly, it played a big role in inspiring “Pizza Man!”

Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
