Hi Gabriella Valeria! Tell us about who you are and where you are from.
I’m an Irish-Latina actress/model originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota, who just recently moved to Los Angeles last year!
How did you get your start modeling, and how long have you been modeling?
I got my start by being the model/guinea pig for cosmetologists in the Twin Cities in 2020.
What led you to choose this career path? What makes your story unique?
Since I was a child, I knew that I was going to be an actress. I kind of “fell into” modeling, as I never saw myself having the look for the industry. As someone petite, it’s been amazing how welcoming the industry has become to varying sizes and bodies.
What was your first modeling gig?
It was for a full set of extensions for a vivid, colored pastel hair look.
When did you first get published?
This will be my first time being published outside of social media.
What types of modeling do you specialize in, and what is your favorite type of modeling?
I’m a petite model specializing in beauty and editorial campaigns.
What are some of the most memorable shoots that you’ve done?
Probably the “Vintage Dior Ad” inspired shots. I love high fashion, and getting to recreate such an iconic shot with my own dog was super fun.

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of modeling?
Honestly, learning to love myself, I have dealt with serious body/self-image issues, and I’ve had to learn that I am someone who can be a model in this industry.
What do you find to be the most rewarding aspect of modeling?
Getting to show people to be confident in themselves.
Aside from modeling, you are also an actress. How long have you been acting for?
I’ve been acting since childhood. Once I could walk and talk, I found myself on a stage ready to perform.
What was your first acting role?
My very first role was when I was 9 as an “ugly frog” in a theatre production of Honk Jr. The Musical.
What is your favorite acting credit so far?
Getting to do my first real film has been so challenging yet exciting. Aside from that, I was an extra in a Hallmark Christmas movie.
What do you find to be the similarities and differences between acting and modeling?
In either job, you have to take on a character. I’ve found the clothing really speaks to who I’m portraying in either modeling or acting.
Do you have any role models who have guided your journey?
I don’t have a specific role model to guide me, but the empowering Latina models and actresses who have come into the industry and made a name for girls like me to join in will forever have my heart.
What words of advice do you have for people with similar aspirations?
Take the risk; it may seem improbable, but you never know unless you do it.
Any other endeavors or upcoming projects that we should currently be on the lookout for from you?
I will be starring in the upcoming feature film, The Biggest Fan, coming out later this year!
Where can we follow you on social media?
You can follow me on Instagram: @Gabriellavaleriaa.
Before you go, let’s ask you something off topic. If you weren’t an actress or model, what would you be doing?
I’d be an attorney. I completed my 1L year of law school and was going to specialize in either immigration or entertainment law!
Thank you for the great interview; wish you much continued success!
